1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions are a binding agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], the company that operates BarcodesQR at BarcodesQR.com (the "service"). In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], and "you" refers to the person or organization using the service.
By creating a QR code, opening an account, purchasing a plan, or otherwise using the service, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of this agreement. Where these terms and the Privacy Policy overlap, the Privacy Policy governs data handling.
2. About the Service
BarcodesQR lets you generate QR codes, customize their design (colors, logos, frames, and templates), create dynamic codes whose destination you can change after printing, and view scan analytics for those codes. Dynamic codes work by pointing at a short link we host, which forwards visitors to the destination you have configured.
Because dynamic codes depend on our redirect infrastructure, they only resolve while the service is running and your account is in good standing. Static codes you export encode your content directly and keep working independently of us.
The service is a general-purpose marketing and convenience tool. It is not designed for, and must not be relied on in, situations where a failed scan or redirect could cause harm. In particular, do not use the service for:
- emergency services, alerting, or any life-safety function;
- medical devices, treatment instructions, or other clinical uses where an error could affect care;
- the operation, control, or monitoring of critical infrastructure such as power, water, transport, or industrial systems.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. We do not offer the service to minors, and we may close accounts we reasonably believe belong to someone under 18.
If you use the service on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms, and "you" then means both you personally and that organization.
4. Accounts & Security
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate registration details and to keep them up to date, including the email address we use to reach you about your subscription.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Do not share your account with others or let anyone else access it with your credentials.
If you suspect that someone has accessed your account without permission, change your password and tell us promptly at help@barcodesqr.com. We are not responsible for losses caused by someone using your credentials before you notify us, unless the access resulted from our own failure.
5. Service Limits & Fair Use
Plans come with practical limits — for example on the number of dynamic codes, scan volume, upload sizes, and analytics history. Current limits are shown in the product, and we may adjust them over time as the service evolves; we will not reduce a limit that materially affects your paid plan mid-term without notice.
We expect use of the service to stay within what an ordinary business or individual customer needs. We may throttle, rate-limit, or suspend usage that puts unreasonable load on our infrastructure, including:
- automated or scripted bulk creation of codes or accounts;
- using a single account to provide the service to third parties at scale;
- traffic patterns designed to inflate scan counts or probe our systems.
6. Trial, Subscriptions & Billing
Paid access begins with a trial: you pay $1.00 for 7 days of full access. When the trial period ends, it converts automatically into a monthly subscription at $39.99 per month, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
We also offer prepaid plans billed in advance for the whole interval: a quarterly plan at $89.99 per 3 months and an annual plan at $239.99 per year. Where the checkout shows a prepaid plan as an effective monthly rate for comparison, that figure is illustrative only — the amount charged is the full interval total stated here.
Every subscription renews automatically at the end of its billing interval, and we charge your saved payment method at the then-current rate for your plan, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing support@barcodesqr.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: you keep access until then, and no further charges are made after that.
If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you in advance by email, and the new price applies only from your next renewal — never retroactively. Prices are stated exclusive of any taxes we are required to collect, which are added at checkout where applicable.
7. Refunds
The $1.00 trial fee pays for your trial access and is non-refundable.
Satisfaction review: if you are not happy with the service after your first full charge, contact us within 14 days of that charge and we will review your refund request in good faith. This goodwill review applies to the first subscription charge on an account and reflects the promise we make on our pricing pages.
Beyond that review, we issue refunds in these situations:
- you were charged twice for the same billing period (duplicate charge);
- a billing error on our side caused an incorrect charge;
- an extended outage: the service was continuously unavailable for more than 72 hours within a billing period — in that case we refund a pro-rata share of that period's charge;
- a refund is required by applicable law.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you ordinarily have a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from a contract for digital services. Because the service is delivered immediately at purchase, you request immediate access when you buy, and you acknowledge that the statutory withdrawal right is lost once that delivery begins. The satisfaction review above is unaffected by this and remains available to you.
To request a refund, email support@barcodesqr.com within 30 days of the charge and include the account email, the date of the charge, and the amount. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method; processing times depend on your bank or card issuer.
8. Your Content
Everything you put into the service — destination URLs, page text, uploaded files, logos, and images — remains yours. We claim no ownership of your content.
So that the service can function, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display your content solely as needed to operate, maintain, and improve the service — for example, to render your QR landing page to people who scan your code. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies that persist briefly in routine backups.
You are responsible for your content: you confirm that you have all rights needed to use it with the service and that it does not violate the law or the content policy below.
9. Our Platform
The service itself — the software, design, frame templates, documentation, and the BarcodesQR name and branding — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your own purposes while your account is in good standing. QR codes you generate are yours to use; the platform that generates them is not.
You must not, except where the law expressly permits it:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise try to extract the source code of the service;
- resell, sublicense, or white-label the service without a written agreement with us;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data from the service;
- use the service, or data obtained from it, to build or train a competing product.
10. Content Policy & Prohibited Uses
QR codes created with the service must not point to, contain, or be used for:
- anything that violates applicable law;
- malware, phishing, credential harvesting, or other attempts to deceive or compromise the people who scan a code;
- content that incites hatred or violence against people or groups;
- sexual content involving minors, in any form — we report this to the authorities;
- impersonation of a person or organization, or other materially deceptive practices;
- violations of other people's privacy, including doxxing or distributing personal data without consent;
- spam or unsolicited bulk messaging schemes;
- abuse of our infrastructure, including attempts to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
We may disable individual QR codes, remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and cooperate with law enforcement when we reasonably believe this policy has been violated. Where practical and lawful, we will tell you what happened and why.
11. Third-Party Destinations
QR codes resolve to destinations chosen by their creators, not by us. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for third-party websites, apps, or content that a code links to — whether the code was created by you or by someone else.
If you scan a code made by another user, you do so at your own judgment, just as with any link. If you believe a code created with our service points somewhere abusive or unlawful, report it to help@barcodesqr.com and we will investigate under the content policy above.
12. Security & Responsible Disclosure
We apply technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. No online service can promise perfect security, and you should use a strong, unique password for your account.
We welcome good-faith security research. If you find a vulnerability, tell us at help@barcodesqr.com with enough detail to reproduce it. Please act in good faith: do not access other people's data, degrade the service, or publicly disclose the issue before we have had a reasonable opportunity to fix it. We will not pursue claims against researchers who follow these guidelines.
13. Availability
We work to keep the service available around the clock, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance, urgent fixes, and events outside our control can cause downtime, and features may change as the product develops.
We do not offer a formal service-level agreement or service credits. The extended-outage refund in the Refunds section is your remedy for prolonged unavailability.
14. Support
For help with the service, contact help@barcodesqr.com; for billing questions, contact support@barcodesqr.com. We answer on a reasonable-effort basis and aim to respond within two business days, though we cannot guarantee response or resolution times.
15. Suspension & Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Closing your account does not by itself refund prepaid amounts — see the Refunds section for when refunds apply.
We may suspend or terminate your account, or disable specific QR codes, if you materially breach these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, or if a payment is reversed through a chargeback. Where the issue is fixable, we will normally warn you and give you a chance to fix it first.
When your account ends — by your choice or ours — dynamic codes stop redirecting, your access to the dashboard and analytics ceases, and we delete or retain your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive (including Your Content licenses already exercised, Indemnification, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Disputes & Governing Law) continue to apply.
16. Indemnification
You will defend and hold us harmless from third-party claims, and reimburse the reasonable costs and damages we incur from them (including reasonable legal fees), to the extent the claim arises out of your content, your use of the service in breach of these terms, or your violation of law or of someone else's rights. We will notify you of any such claim and may participate in the defense with our own counsel at our own expense.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that scans will always resolve.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer-protection law grants you and that cannot be waived.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the service — even if we were advised such damages were possible.
To the same extent, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is capped at the amounts you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply where the law forbids limiting liability — for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
19. Force Majeure
Neither party is responsible for failing to perform (other than payment obligations already due) because of events beyond its reasonable control — such as natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, government action, widespread internet or power failures, or failures of upstream providers.
If such an event prevents performance for more than 30 consecutive days, either party may terminate the affected subscription, and we will refund the pro-rata unused portion of any prepaid amount.
20. Disputes & Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW / VENUE], and the courts there have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them — except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to sue, or be sued, where you live.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us (billing matters: support@barcodesqr.com; everything else: help@barcodesqr.com) and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally — most problems are fixed this way.
To the extent permitted by law, any claim relating to the service must be brought within one year of the date the claim arose; after that, it is permanently barred.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the service, the law, or our business changes. For material changes, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or a prominent notice in the service before the new terms take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
If you do not accept a material change, cancel your subscription before the change takes effect and we will refund the pro-rata unused portion of any prepaid amount.
22. General Provisions
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the service and replace any earlier understandings.
If any provision of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and the unenforceable provision is replaced with a valid one that comes closest to its intent. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it; waivers are only effective in writing signed by us. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case the assignee takes on our obligations.
